Wire Haired Dachshund Rescue

Commonly, Dachshund Rescues have a variety of Dachshunds for adoption including: standard, miniature, short haired, long haired and wire haired Dachshunds. It's not common to find Dachshund Rescue groups that only care for wire haired Dachshunds because they care for the breed as a whole and not just a certain type of wiener dog within the breed family such as the wirehaired variety.

Dachshund Rescues that offer wire haired Dachshunds for adoption as well as all other varieties are generally not-for-profit organizations with the sole purpose to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Dachshunds that need help.

Dachshund Rescue groups are commonly made up of experienced rescue individuals. Every year these Dachshund Rescues place 1000's of wire haired wiener dogs to loving permanent, new homes.

Most rescued wire haired Dachshunds would spend a short time under observation and in many cases foster care so their behavior can be evaluated and monitored. The goal is to offer potential adopters information on how their new Dachshund may interact with their existing family members and other pets. These are critical components to a good match and for finding a new home.

Dachshund Rescue proceeds (adoption fees, etc) are used to help the many sick, scared and abused Dachshunds that come through their doors every year. We encourage you to help continue their mission by adopting a rescued Wire Haired Dachshund or Dachshund of your choice as an alternative to purchasing baby wiener dogs from breeders.
