This life jacket has an easy to grab handle on top of the life vest for emergency situations. One handle for Small and smaller sizes. 2 handles for Medium sizes and above.

How to Measure your Dachshund for a life jacket
XX-small: up to 11" Chest (length of vest is 6 inches)
X-Small: 12" - 15" Chest (length of vest is 8.5 inches)
Small: 16" - 20" Chest (length of vest is 12 inches)
Medium: 21" - 25" Chest (length of vest is 15 inches)
Large: 26" - 30" Chest (length of vest is 18 inches)
*** NOTE *** When measuring your wiener dog, make sure to use a cloth tape (or piece of string) and take the measurement so it's snug, but not too tight. If measurements are made too tight around the dog, it will result in a jacket that doesn't fit. If your Dachshund is close to the maximum measurements of a particular size, we recommend purchasing the next size up.

Great doggo life jacket
Fits our dachshund so well, she's still comfortable to move around, the handle on the back is a wonderful feature. Took her out kayaking a couple of times now and it has worked out great!

Perfect!!!
This is the perfect life jacket for my dachshund! The measurements were spot on and the fit is great! The adjustable buckles and velcro closures make it so easy to put on and take off! And the handles are so easy for while in water! I would highly recommend this product!

Daschound life vest
This vest fit nicely and I was very please with customer support and timeliness of shipping. However, my dog darn near drowned when I put her in the water to swim. Mind you, she is a very good swimmer. This jacket had her rolling to her left side, she couldn’t’ get her little front feet out enough and that ‘thing’ under her neck was in the way. She was taking on water within 15 seconds. Had to pull her out immediately. I did like the handles on the back though - very easy to pull her out of the water. I will be sending this vest back and will just let her swim as she is quite capable of doing. I ordered this vest because we are going to visit some friends who have a house on a small Michigan ‘lake’. Wanted to be safe. Glad we practiced before we start our trip. PETMYWIENER.COM RESPONSE: Thank you for your order. The vest works as intended. Some dogs do not do well with these kinds of vests. It is very rare but we do hear of this occurring in certain situations when the dog does not react well to wearing it and they panic. It is a flotation device that has been approved as such. It's not possible to sink under normal or typical use circumstances.

Life vest
Love this life vest, only wish the fabric covering the belly was mesh. When out on the boat it is very hot and wish the material was cooling.

Slightly small, so I ordered a larger size. We'll see how it fits when it gets here on Tuesday.
