Texas Dachshund Rescue groups are mostly made up of experienced independent rescue individuals. On any given year, Texas Dachshund Rescues can place hundreds and even 1000's of wiener dogs to new, loving permanent homes.
Many rescued Dachshunds in Texas spend a short time under observation and in many cases foster care so their behavior can be evaluated. The goal is to offer potential adopters information on how their new Dachshund may interact with their existing family members and other pets. These are critical components to a good match for finding a Dachshund in need a new home.
